The world of collector car auctions is filled with bright lights and loud voices that almost give it a circus like appearance.  Indeed, when many auctions go on for days and even weeks, it’s almost hard to remember that the focus is actually on the cars.  It is here where we at Dragone Auctions we differ ourselves from these large auctions houses.  In short, our auctions are not about all of the glitz and glamour of show business, they are about the cars themselves.  By holding our auctions at our own gallery in the lovely seaport town of Westport, Connecticut, we can focus on what makes our auctions special, quite simply our cars.  Here at Dragone we strive to make purchasing your collector car at an auction a pleasurable experience without the pressure and stress so often associated with a large event.  We also do not hold auctions where there are hundreds of average cars as we choose to offer a limited number of some of the most exclusive cars in the world.  For this, our spring 2015 we are proud to bring a stunning one-off 1951 Simca-Abarth SC Cabriolet that was personally owned by sports car specialist Roger Barlow of Hollywood Sportscars. This incredible car was just restored and is now being offered to the public for the very first time.  We also have an original and incredibly preserved 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Brewster Newmarket Perminent Faux Cabriolet that was bought new by Long Island socialite Tommy Manville.  Our offerings also include a beautifully restored 1913 Stutz Bearcat, the only 1911 Type 35 Mercer Toy Tonneau, a one-off Pontiac Banshee GM prototype, a freshly restored 1924 Marmon Speedster, and a fine array of classic Packards and Cadillacs.  There’s also something for everyone in this auction as we’re also offering a fine selection of elegant carriages and vintage bicycles from the noted Sterling Walsh collection.  As a founding member of the AACA, Walsh was a car aficionado in every sense of the word and we are proud to ensure that his lifelong passion for the motorcar is maintained and preserved in the world’s finest collections for many more generations to enjoy.  The Walsh collection also holds some of the best award winning restorations as evidenced by his 1904 Cured Dash Olds and a stunning 1910 Sears Model K.

An event of this magnitude is made possible only by the efforts of many and to this end we would like to thank our staff, and support crew for their constant and vigilant efforts in making this auction possible.  We’d also like to thank our consigners for allowing us to bring their special cars to market.  It is our sincere hope that you find that special piece that will complete your collection and we remain dedicated to servicing our customers all over the world.
